The New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association (NZRCA) is affiliated with 35 rodeo events, including the Rerewhakaaitu Rodeo in Rotorua. The rodeo is a dynamic and thrilling sport, attracting as many as 5,000 people or more to some events. Roughly 800 members comprised of both competitors and support crew make this traveling summertime sport a success.

The Rodeo in Rotorua – Family-Friendly Event

The Rotorua rodeo features numerous competitions, both junior and adult, ranging from ages 5 to 70. Competitors battle for national titles, trophies and cash prizes, and the Rerewhakaaitu Rodeo in Rotorua is just one of several rodeo events that happen across the country. Some of the events include barrel racing, steer ride, calf ride, and breakaway roping. It’s an exciting event that is sure to entertain both young and old alike.

This is a family-friendly event, all ages are welcome. Food and beverages are available for purchase on-site. No dogs allowed, no glass, and no cross-entry into the venue.
